The Moral of the Story Challenge (2013)

Moral of the Story

I love fairy tales and fables so why not make a challenge out of it? The purpose of this challenge is to see how many (Aesop's Fables, Hans Christian Anderson, & Grimm Fairy Tales) you can read and compare to each other? What are the morals to each short story?

Rules:

  • Aesop (284), Anderson (64), or Grimm (120) are just examples of where the best and popular fairy tales can be found. ANY author who has written "fairy tales" (known or unknown) is applicable to this challenge.

  • Books must be read from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013

  • Reviewing between 2-4 stories you've read at any given time is easiest. (It does not have to be a full review, a sentence or two on Goodreads is more than sufficient.)

  • An example of how I plan on sharing my reviews can be found here (<--link coming soon).

Levels:

  •  1 - 40 Morals Read

  • 41 - 80 Morals Learned

  • 81 - 100 Morals Understood

  • 100+ Morals Master

I selected this post to be featured on my blog’s page at Book Review Blogs.

  3. So it can only come from those three? I have no problem with that, but as a personal goal, I've been reading a fairy tale a day, mostly out of Andrew Lang's fairy books, which include all three of those authors, but also many more lesser known authors. Just checking!

  4. I chose those three because I figured they would be "well known" by avid readers and would be easiest for anyone who joins to get their hands on those authors. But, I should probably update the rules to include that ANY author who has written a series of fairy tales is applicable to this challenge. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I will also be posting an example of how future reviews can be structured in case those who have a blog can post their thoughts on the moral of each tale.
