Movie Trailer:

My Review: Comparing this third movie to other animated movies that have gone as far or further, I would say this is one of the best. I find that after the sequel, the original idea and purpose of the animated movie gets lost, thereby making it less funny and more desperate. While it’s true a franchise is made based on money and you wouldn’t make a sequel or a third movie if you didn’t think die-hard fans would go see it no matter how bad it is. What makes it bad is if the imagination is gone.

I find adding too many characters can be a good judge of lost imagination. Especially if the animated movie is for children as well as adults. Why would you give children too many characters and storylines to follow. I’m sure you figure if they are intelligent enough to get through the entire Harry Potter series in a matter of days they can take on anything? Well, sometimes kids just want to be kids and adults just want to relax without having to think too hard, especially when watching an animated movie. So lighten up people!

As for this movie, there are just the main characters we all know and love of course, with a few added circus folk. Unlike the TV show Heroes which quickly got cancelled when a circus came to town and ruined the show, this circus added something we the audience and the main cast needed, a home. From the first movie and the second movie that is what they’ve been looking for all along. They left the zoo because Marty was looking for something bigger and better. A home he felt would be more exciting for himself. Not realizing his best friends would follow him of course. There-in lies the adventure of it all. I won’t spoil the ending but what I will say is I can see this franchise surpassing Ice Age and Shrek movies in terms of how many movies are made and money is earned as well. Don’t tamper with a great formula/idea and you’ll get further than you ever imagined. It’s the wonderful world of animation.

My Rating: B-
